Valverde needs to understand that he won't get better if he doesn't play regularly. So, stop playing Vidal FFS.

Dembélé would be great in that Madrid team with his precise crosses. In Barcelona? We'll have to wait. He is too far away from the goal. He'll have to look to get more goal scoring opportunities in order to succeed.

We actually suffered alot without crosses after the departure of Alves, Roberto sometimes lack the power and accuracy as well. In any case, Dembele looks more electric than any of Vidal or Paulinho combined. He just needs more game time, not too worried about finding goalscoring chances. How many games has he played since last his injury? 2 games? And against Las Palmas, 20 mins? Be realistic.

Against Girona he played more in the half space than strictly on the wing. Valverde did the same thing against Getafe which he admitted to after the match. Have him try to dribble a hole in the defence and pump in crosses instead of playing as a wide passing option.

Success is not measured by only goals. Dembele had a mediocre game, but in general I'm happy because, still, he has zero of that typical Barca winger mentality - pass the ball back to Iniesta/Rakitic/Messi so maybe Maestro will create something. The boy wants to bring the ball forward in heavy traffic. When he succeeds we all go "WOOOAAAH THE NEXT MESSI!!!" and when he fails it's "SELL!!!". That simple.

Yea, which is why it's sad that he's not getting the games to develop that yet. I also like that he knows he's not there to play it safe and that his role is to be a difference maker not to pass on that responsability. Such is the case for Coutinho as well.

I don't understand why Suarez starts crying for the ball every time Dembele is in possession. No matter how far from each other they may be or how unfeasible a pass between the two is, Suarez starts throwing his hands up in the air and screaming for the ball immediately after Dembele gets it. Then if Dembele either fails with his pass to Suarez or loses possession you can see Suarez visibly sulking and showing his frustration. I've never seen him behave like this with another teammate, it's like either Dembele has to find him with a perfect pass every time or he commences a mini tantrum of sorts.

This is no way to treat a young player who has yet to establish himself in the team, all it does it put added, unnecessary pressure on him.

Remember this

No Dembele = Zero chance in CL and possibly securing the league.

Simple as that. Develop this kid while we still can before it's all too late. Didnt play against Eibar, play only 20 mins against Las Palmas and people already judging him.

If we sign Griezmann in the summer and keep Valverde, both moves that seem almost certain at this point then I'm afraid Dembele's time here could be coming to an abrupt, ugly end.

More like Valverde's. If the manager can't develop top rated talents, then maybe he needs to be replaced. That's a rather big part of the job profile. If he can't develop Dembele, then what are Alena's chances? Slim as hell. So far, Valverde's been pretty shit at giving chances to young players. He's basically putting it all on the old guard while the new talents get minutes here and there.

In his first year, he hasn't developed a single young player. With some, he has done a poor job.

Kid can't pick proper boots now? What's next? Is he really that dumb to have problems like that or not knowing eating shit will hinder his career.

Still, I don't think he was that bad when he came on. If he starts against Atletico he will be under pressure too so no use lamenting over it.
Don't think we bought a bad player and he can very well turn out great but his mental capacity for it is questionable.

He is only 20, lets wait at least 1 more season and he will probably learn to pick right boots

That's what I'm most afraid of, since Messi and Suarez are pretty much unbenchable. Dembele will join the likes of Semedo, because they somehow dont feed his workhorse criteria. Griezmann isnt a natural winger or midfielder as well, but watch how he will replace Dembele under Valverde.

He had about 10 minutes on the pitch, and it was what; his 7th appearance? Give him a few starts and and some semblance of continuity before getting the daggers out.

True that. Has the man every played 2 games in a row? Don't think so.
