Brilliant goal. Very calm and composed. Like I said Chelsea will leave alot of space on the right and Dembele exploited it very well. Needs to do better at defending but he made that last ditch tackle. Him and Semedo will be a perfect pair on the right hand side.

I have said it on a chat.
I hope that someone will make a Gif or something.

Dembele left his player alone two times.
He was near the player around the box, then Dembele looks at the action on the other side of our box and forgets his player.
Then his player gets the ball alone in our box with Dembele 2 meters behind him even though Dembele was marking a player only 5 seconds, before he "fell asleep" and watched the action at the other side of a box.

In one of those actions, he made a tackle.

But he created both chances for Chelsea.

An analogy would be:
MATS dribbling a player in our box and losing a ball.
An opponent hesitates and attempts a shot.
MATS saves the shot in the end.
Ok, a nice save, but he shouldn't have dribbled and allowed a chance in the first place.

So, he didn't "save" it.
He created/ruined it and THEN saved it.

Ofcourse you had to partypoop :shakeshead:

The dream of 70% of this forum to see our own player flop was crushed today

wtf? there are 5-6 trolls who want that, they just post constantly and all over the place to make it look like it. Why would majority of our fanbase would want such a talent to fail lol.

@BBZ

Dembele sprinted back twice to catch Willian's dribbles.

Around 46-48 minute he made an important tackle in our penalty area, which could have lead to a Chelsea goal. Your point of bad defending holds no water. Same logic should be applied to Suarez and Messi who let defenders and midfielders pass them by.

Don't think anyone of regular posters want him to fail.

Just because some people are blindsighted it doesn't mean other people shouldn't point out to flaws in kids game.

had a good game, glad he scored, has a lot to learn, but I think this once again proves Valverde is right in the way how he has treated him, step by step integrating him more. I still think in away games, if everyone is healthy, we should approach them like we did Chelsea in first game.

Now you’re scraping the barrel. Your can’t defend argument has been blown out of the water now you’re looking for something else.

Just admit it. You don’t like him.

He did better defensively than Roberto. Much better.

That said, he shouldn’t be playing in midfield in a 4-4-2. I spoke about this just yesterday. The role is too demanding for him at this stage. And for God sake please dump this double pivot shit already. Our midfield gets overrun with only 2 CM’s. It’s become very evident as the season has progressed.

4-3-3 with Dembélé as right wing.

Glad he scored but wasn't impressed. He does track back but is inept at defending.

Guess nothing impresses you. His debut goal in a big pressure match in just 8 games, in and out of injuries and already has 3 assists. Made a crucial tackle. Yes, he need to work a little on defending but he is still adapting. Will get better.

I agree, but I think the best is to come next season when he has fully integrated and played more. Hope for no more injuries.

If you're not still impressed by him tonight it's a good sign actually, that you expect him to be better and he has the quality.
I liked his performance, scored a crucial goal and defended quite well.
