He had a decent game, he will improve in defense but let’s be fair. He scored and he had som great reactions. I am happy with his display he is 20 years old. Well done kid just continue to improve!

I'm so happy for the boy. Never late for his first goal, and that tackle on Marcos Alonso in first half was bloody brilliant! He still needs work obviously (especially off ball movement) but he's getting the confidence and Valverde's more confident in him too.

He did quite well.

Would be more useful if the idea of break was not leaving Messi and Suarez up the park and hitting them early.

Rarely see Dembele get the ball early from Raki or Busi in space.

wtf? there are 5-6 trolls who want that, they just post constantly and all over the place to make it look like it. Why would majority of our fanbase would want such a talent to fail lol.

Why are they not getting banned then? Is there no mods in this forum?

One sliding tackle doesnt mean he did well defending. Pretty sure Valverde saw that this won't do.

Can he learn to be more tactically aware? We'll see.

Yeah, but he’s too deep in a 4-4-2 in the first place.

He is not ready for a midfield role. He should be charging at his full back...

I have said it on a chat.
I hope that someone will make a Gif or something.

Dembele left his player alone two times.
He was near the player around the box, then Dembele looks at the action on the other side of our box and forgets his player.
Then his player gets the ball alone in our box with Dembele 2 meters behind him even though Dembele was marking a player only 5 seconds, before he "fell asleep" and watched the action at the other side of a box.

In one of those actions, he made a tackle.

But he created both chances for Chelsea.

An analogy would be:
MATS dribbling a player in our box and losing a ball.
An opponent hesitates and attempts a shot.
MATS saves the shot in the end.
Ok, a nice save, but he shouldn't have dribbled and allowed a chance in the first place.

So, he didn't "save" it.
He created/ruined it and THEN saved it.

WTF are you talking about?

Great goal, great saving tackle, and was decent overall though a little casual with the ball at times. Feel like tonight was a big step for him, Valverde trusted hiom on the big occasion and to a large extent he delivered. Would be much more comfortable as a RW though, not a RM. Really miss 433 personally.

He is raw as fuck and looked lost a lot of time when asking to get in shape to defend.

Lots of effort to get up and down park though and some decent moments outwith the goal.

Absolute garbage , folk on here are always moaning he doesn't do enough defensively , well he did tonight and scored a terrific goal.
Will only get better but will obviously not impress some of the experts on here.
