Had a good game. Chose a the perfect game to score his first goal too :D

Though he needs to get better in defense, but i'm sure it will come if he just gets more minutes on the pitch. He MUST play more often, he deserves it.

He is raw as fuck and looked lost a lot of time when asking to get in shape to defend.

Lots of effort to get up and down park though and some decent moments outwith the goal.

Exactly. He did get back, it's the tactical problem with him.

Hopefully, it can be ironed out.

I cannot ignore the price tag on him, so I'm far from impressed, but he was crucial today. Scored a goal and probably saved one. Good confidence booster for him and I hope he'll keep improving.

He took his goal well and the one tackle in the box was excellent. The one criticism I have with him (and this will get fixed with time), when the ball comes to him it seems like everything stops but it’s one of those things that will come to him as we continues to train with teammates and get playing time.

Don't say you are not impressed. You'll be labeled as troll.

One sliding tackle doesnt mean he did well defending. Pretty sure Valverde saw that this won't do.

Can he learn to be more tactically aware? We'll see.

No one said one tackle is enough, but it's a crucial one and he is not known to defend well. Kid is still learning and improving, that goal is already a huge milestone and achievement. People say he cant do much, he assisted. People say he will struggle to score, yet scored against Chelsea in just few games. If he scored against Malaga, people will say it's 20th place Malaga. Come on, nothing is perfect and there's still a huge room for improvement. You are always not impressed in whatever he does.

You have to say that was a hard goal to score. He kinda paused on it, the defenders came across to form a wall but he really followed through well and has good power shot which I thought he did not possess.

Improvin' Perfection!!
I have said it on a chat.
I hope that someone will make a Gif or something.

Dembele left his player alone two times.
He was near the player around the box, then Dembele looks at the action on the other side of our box and forgets his player.
Then his player gets the ball alone in our box with Dembele 2 meters behind him even though Dembele was marking a player only 5 seconds, before he "fell asleep" and watched the action at the other side of a box.

In one of those actions, he made a tackle.

But he created both chances for Chelsea.

An analogy would be:
MATS dribbling a player in our box and losing a ball.
An opponent hesitates and attempts a shot.
MATS saves the shot in the end.
Ok, a nice save, but he shouldn't have dribbled and allowed a chance in the first place.

So, he didn't "save" it.
He created/ruined it and THEN saved it.

Who made you a captain of positive brigade? You were hoping Barca crashes out and Valverde gets sacked just few months ago.

If he continues his negative tactics which luckily he didnt tonight. Weren't you also were very positive about everything, but when it comes to this kid, you are somehow a different person with a different tone.

I find it's much better to evaluate the boy's talent and performances based on his age rather than his price tag.

That's just me though.

You still hoping Barca get beat if Valverde 'is negative'?

Actually thought tonight was a negative as Barca have played in a while but were defending a lead so hard to judge.
