He's having the strong start of the season he needed.

Sure he needs to improve some things but it's all about sending a message to any doubters especially anyone in the board who may want to sell him for a high fee. If he keeps this up and keeps improving it will be hard for any of those guys to even consider selling him.

The best thing is he can do a lot better. He was more impressive at Dortmund.

This guy is a generational talent. If he manages to lose less balls he'll be a monster.

I think he'll do just that in the years to come.

If he keeps starting games this season and doesn't suffer an unlucky injury he will certainly get back to it and even better it. Last season got injured and was out for months and was always in and out of the team and never got to nail down a starting spot.

very talented for shure, but 'generational talent' is going overboard

Nah, did you watch him play in Dortmund ? He was stellar. Though I must say it hasn't shown as much in Barcelona until now.

Then again, Barcelona slow possession game is not optimal for him.

This is it. He's already regained his agility and pace from his Dortmund form, I've seen it in glimpses during the past few months (past three games where he dribbled past a few players with body feints and not pace, the counter-attack goal against villareal last season etc). Barcelona's play style is just way too slow for him + there aren't as many runners in this team as there were in Dortmund (more of a coaching problem), plus his role is far more restrictive; in Dortmund he used to roam all over the final third as a CAM+RW+LW all the time.

I watched almost every single game when he was at BVB. He was good but not generational talent.

The way I see it Dembele can easily reach the level of prime Ribery & Robben. Not a generational talent, but one of the best wingers of his generation.

He lacks the workrate to match Robbery, for starters but I know he is getting better at it. Also his dribbling is way worse, he is more of a player who thrives in having a lot of place than someone who dribbles past players. To me Malcom is much closer to being Robbery than Dembele.

malcom doesn't have the skill level to be on par with prime robbery. Dembele has all the tools, and workrate is something that can be fixed with the right manager. Talent can't IMO.
