Exactly. Dembele plays in the best league with the best players and Mbappe in a Mickey Mouse competition.

Mbappe won the World Cup and was among the best players of his team, not really a Mickey Mouse competition (actually the top competition in the world), that's a feat considering even Messi and Cristiano never achieved that in their lives.

If you want a Mickey Mouse team though, look no further than Huesca you just beat 8-2 (lol) while barely running on the pitch in La Liga. THAT was Mickey Mouse football.

I mean you do realize the players who did most of the heavy lifting didn't play in Ligue 1?

Lloris-EPL
Varane-Hernandez-Umtiti-La Liga
Kante-Pogba-EPL
Griezmann-La Liga-Matuidi-Serie A

Literally Mbappe was the only starting Ligue 1 player for France for the most part. I'm not doubting there's quality in Ligue 1 in terms of talent but serghei technically isn't wrong to say that Mbappe plays against weak competition on a consistent basis because frankly a lot of those teams are there to develop young talent and sell them off for decent fees.

I'm not going to make any comments on ligue 1 because I don't watch them, but to call La Liga "mickey mouse league" come on pal.

Real Madrid: 3 UCLs in a row, 4 in 5 years. Only managed to win 2 La liga titles in 10 years.
Barcelona: Won 2 continental trebles within a decade, one of them being a sextuple, and a continental double within a decade. 7 Ligas in 10 years.
Atletico Madrid: Double UCL finalist, Europa League Champion, 1 Liga in 10 years
Sevilla: 5 Europa Leagues in 10 years

Then we have clubs like Villareal, Celta Vigo, and Bilbao that have made the Europa League knockout stages throughout the last decade. There's a reason why La Liga has the highest coefficient, it's because there's at least 6 clubs making deep runs in Europe (either UCL or Europa league) every year. If La Liga's a mickey mouse league, then what do you call league (every other league) with far worse records in Europe in the past 10 years?

I did not imply that Dembele has a style of play reminiscent to those of Robben and Ribery.

And you were right about that, because as far as his style of play goes (specially watching how he moves and accelerates) the sole outstanding player he reminds is obviously Neymar.
It's not just a mere coincidence that some eagle-eyed officials tried to bring him in as a Neymar replacement.
His speed, acceleration, style of dribble and often the lack of precise finishing, etc. all remind us the Brazilian, regardless that obviously Neymar has already been a WC player for years.
The fully grown Dembele will be very close to Neymar, if things go on well for him.
The only things Dembele is lacking at present is the "fire" and fighting skills of Neymar... He looks like as an easily giving-up and cold Neymar...

I think Dembele is already a much better team-player than Neymar.
He also doesn't engage in pointless backwards/sideways dribbling runs.

I hate those midfield runs too. They're amazing if they'e inspired, they're shit if it's your go to tactic every single game. Anyways neymar's selfishness is exaclty what Dembele needs to go the next step. Physically (agility, speed/acceleration) he has way too much firepower to be as conservative hes being now. His acceleration is incredible, just two steps and he phases through players. He needs to utilize that more imo, doesn't do it as much as he can.

His conservatism is not a weakness, it's a mature beyond his years restraint that is being looked at as a flaw because he is a superstar. He isn't Ney or Ronnie. He is Dembele and is doing perfect the way he is playing. He just needs to continue settling in and getting comfortable and he'll be top 5 player in the world by next year.

You're welcome
Not sure if Dembele is mature for his age but he definitely has a good level of humility to him. Prolly have his upbringing to thank for that.
Also, as I have said before, he will never become the party animal type. At least one worry less.

The fact that Iniesta really liked this kid and developed a strong bond with him gives me so much confidence that his personality isn't going to be a problem.

I can hope/imagine Iniesta in the coaching staff few years from now when Dembouz is at his peak.

I think people expect some wild things off field because he's young which to be fair it's real easy for a young person especially one that is making millions and living in a city like Barcelona to get caught up into night life and stuff.

Dembele was struggling a bit with his parents divorce if I remember correctly but bar that and some questionable eating habits at Dortmund and when he got here apparently, you don't really hear anything terrible about him.

The Gossip stuff Romero talked about seemed nothing more than some guy who heard from a guy etc. It made it sound like some of the big whigs in the Locker room didn't like him but going by the on field stuff that doesn't seems to be the case at all.
