11 - Raphinha

I'm not saying for certain it will fail, but I have a hard time imagining it being the ideal system to play and ideal roles to have for FBs and wingers in 2022.

You kinda limit yourself a lot too when trying to acquire players.

Would prefer if Xavi ditched his plan of playing with wide wingers and FBs coming inside. Not like we have prime Marcelo and Dani Alves at LB and RB.

We play boring as fuck football too with wingers hugging the touchline pumping in crosses.

Is this something Xavi wants to play long-term or was it just about survival?

My guess is it was to protect the crap defense.

Alves could barely defend when he was closeby. Imagine 38 year old Alves having to overlap on the outside when wingers cut inside or played narrow.

He'd be back in defense after his flank was already turned into swiss cheese.

Lol, no offense but no top player in EPL is gonna go for 25m. You're talking about 45-60m probably, that's the range.

How is he a TOP player in EPL? His team almost got relegated and during his last 6 seasons in Europe he scored only 34 goals. Only once he had more than 10 goals in one season. Out of those 34 goals many were penalties. He also had only 3 assists during this last season.

Sometimes I am not sure if we are talking about Ronaldinho or Raphinha in this forum? In the end I am not saying this guy isn't talented or that he wouldn't be a good addition to the team but as things stand he might also be hugely overhyped.

No wonder his obsession with better defense, but I don't like his fullback ideas. Alonso, Azpi etc. Of course we have money limitations but I wish we'd look for someone younger.

Anthony is a fraud. Want him nowhere near Barcelona.

So Raphinha is worth 15m more?

Going to be a long summer market.

I'm almost at the point of suggesting we take Di Maria on a free and use the option for Angelo Gabriel in December for 35m.

We are going to get priced out of everyone else and it seems the levers are not as closed as Laporta said a few weeks back.

I would definitely pay 15m more for Raphina than Anthony :S But 65m is a joke as well.

Sometimes there are just shit options. Like renewing Dembele.

I think Antony is getting underrated based off of Ajax CL exit.

With Ferran on one side we probably need a pacier option, but a better player than Neres was for example.

Productivity-wise Neres had far better seasons.

14 goals 11 assists in 32 Eredivisie games in 17/18, for example. 8 goals and 8 assists in 29 games in 18/19.

Antony has 9 goals 8 assists in 32 games in 20/21, and 8 goals 4 assists in 23 games in 21/22.

Antony's dribbling numbers are also quite low. 1,3 per game in 20/21 and 1,8 in 21/22. In Eredivisie, where attacking players dribble past defenders for fun.

Braith would be one of the best players in that league. It is piss poor compared to even the Portuguese Primeira.
