Fast forward a few months and Man City, the English champions and one of Europe's best sides, is collapsing without Rodri while tons of players are surpassing Vini's last season stats wise
I understand football is not about stats and Vini was phenomenal that season, but that fact is more in favour of Rodri than Vini.

Let's not exaggerate. Vinicius scored multiple goals in CL semis and finals in the last years. This is not easy to do and other players haven't done it like he did over the last 3 seasons.
So it's not only about volume of goals scored, but also when and against which teams you score them. And the reality is that Vinicius marked the difference for Madrid many times in the biggest games of the season in the last few years. Goals, key passes, shots, dribbles etc.
Now, it's true that Raphinha and Yamal might be able to do that, but they haven't done it yet.

This is not really about Raphinha Vini comparisons. More about proving that Rodri deserved the ballon dor and that Vini season was not nearly as impressive as portrayed for a forward. Rapha is not the only player to surpass his last season stats, few others have done it already.

Because in the big games in CL, especially the semis and the final, Vinicius made the difference for Madrid. At 0-1 vs Bayern you could see after Bayern scored that Vinicius really took the game over. Sure, Joselu got the tapin goals, but the one that took over the game and turned it around was Vinicius.
He has an extra gear in really big games and he shows it.
If you base it on achievements over the season, Carvajal is a lock. CL, La Liga, Euros, all as a leader in defense.

Yeah, Rodri deserves his BD if I count the last 2 seasons. He was amazing for City in 2022-23. But... Messi has a career best WC at 35.
Staying on topic, for me there is only one way to be better than Vinicius for our star players. Do the things he did in CL this year. Get there to play those games, and when you do, help decide them to bring your team the highest achievements in club football.
