Well, i like to think that there is genuine competition for every place in the Barca squad. I appreciate that Sergio is the current incumbent but a player of Mascherano's ilk would bring another dimension to the side. Tough call as to who is the preferred option but Mascherano would be a quality addition and help fill the void left by Toure

personally i would rather have senna...... bc of price and lack of time for javier

me 2...plus if mascherano join, there will be question regarding who be bench warmer, Javier or Busquets? coz both of them are good players and deserve to be in first team.

It's not like it'll be either him or the other on the bench. Dont forget that Sergio can be a CM. So adding Mascherano would allow either Xavi or Iniesta to rest.

Same with me,But if I had to choose one from Ozil and Mascherano,I will go for Mascherano for sure.

I like Mascherano, but he's not a distributor. I would rather sign an older player for that position rather than spend over 20m (even if Hleb is involved) on a rotating player who only plays one position. It makes more sense to buy someone more experienced for cheaper (Pirlo) who has similar- or better- qualities as Busquets. He could both train Busquets and any young players moving up. Plus, with a player like Pirlo, you also get one of the only players in the world who can play Xavi's role.

Pirlo's been overated for a few seasons now and this is coming from someone who watches the AC Milan game every weekend b/c I'm a huge Pato fan. He's been almost as useless as the other elders in the midfield.

If that's the case then its ok. But I don't think Liverpool is giving him so easily. So, I would like to stick with Senna or La Masia as backup plan.

He was born to play in a team like Barca IMO. He wouldn't need to be a water carrier here. Wise council for Busi and additional experienced cover for Xavi.

Mascherano would be a great signing. He would be good cover for Busquets or even Xavi if sh!t hit the fan
