so we got rid of one DM because he was unhappy at not being the automatic first choice....to sign another player in that position who is also going to be unhappy at not being the automatic first choice. great..what could possibly go wrong??

i'm very unhappy with our dealings in the transfer market this season (minus villa signing), and meanwhile i think madrid have been much smarter than us. i predict a tough season ahead.

Both Villa and Adriano are good signings imo. But i dont know what to say about Mascherano, i think he is a prefect sub to Busquets. Masch is here to win, and i think he is happy to be part of this team... evven if he dosnt play all the games

In your opinion Cal. He almost gave away an early goal to the Dutch with a clumsy pass right to Sneijder outside the box. Gift wrapped.

Busi did make up for his mistakes though. Always. That's why I love him and his frankensteinish unearthliness.

Mascherano was a poor captain Pepe and again showed how he can't provide good enough protection to a defence without another deep midfielder. He was at his best sat next to Alonso, he's never been as comfortable since. Plus you factor in his lack of height, I do worry if he'll work in our midfield. Busi was overall superb and there was a distinctive lack of praise for him in the media, over here the lack of respect was appalling.

I don't blame them for not praising Busquets tbh. He's a nasty diver and if he weren't on our team, I wouldn't like him - that is the price you pay for diving.

He does display a penchant to learn and you can see it in his development so that speaks to his propensity of greatness.

His skills do need to be acknowledged more by everyone (we already know how good he is), that much I can agree on but that goes for every non-national player and outside media. They will always prefer what is their own. His game is disgustingly awesome though, and he will continue to flourish at Barca that's no doubt.

Masch is short, but what he makes up for in size he makes up for in attitude and strength. He is extremely mobile, good on the short passing game (that's all we need with Pique/Alves/Max/Abidal more than capable of providing the upfield movement). I prefer him to be bull-headed in defense (almost Puyolesque) and I favor the move. I like a great balance of fancy and toughness and it looks like Pep may agree with that.

Way I see it Barca under Pep looks very solid defensively and we don´t need fixing in that area. Senna + JDS would have been all we need and would cost us what?
That being said I am a big fan of Mascherano.
