I will say this again and again. Germany had mediocre 30 minutes of semi-final whereas Argentina played 120 minutes of extreme exhaustion mentally and physically to take on an even stronger opponent that RESTED AN EXTRA DAY!

Was a beast indeed, but he also made 2 costly errors that could have resulted in a goal. Aside from that, massive performance indeed.

Last 2 games? His leadership from DM position is why Argie clown defenders didn't ever make the team go behind until the last 10 minutes of the World Cup. He's had no bad game, he's been a huge influence. The main reason behind the Final not ending like 1/4 Final did 4 years ago and why Argies looked better at the back than Germany upfront. If not him I'd wager Argentina would be out against Swiss or Belgium since they struggled to score, which usually led to conceding eventually as the past history evidenced. And as it turns out, better conditioned than the Golden Ball recipient.
