No, the papers have promised a lot, Rosell hasn't. Rosell said that he would try to get Cesc, we couldn't afford Arsenal's extremely high demands, that's fair enough surely?

I think most of us would expect a certain amount of flexibility in terms of how much we're prepared to spend on a player, but at the end of the day there is a budget to stick to and a limit on what we can and should spend. The club should always try to get the best deal it can for a player, that's what we as fans should expect, we shouldn't be advocating an approach that amounts to little more than financial hari-kiri. There's a lot to say for the softly-softly catchy monkey approach, and unlike with Cesc we've managed to get Liverpool to sit down and negotiate so I think Rosell's plan is working thus far, and he's yet to sign any K9s!

While i agree wholeheartedly with what you are saying cause it's logical i can't help but think there was several cheap alternatives that wouldn't break the bank .
i mean even we managed to get 6 players for almost 70 million .. i think you could have used Khedira , Ozil for example which wouldn't cost you a lot ..
all those French DM's are very cheap and of high quality technically as well .
I believe you want a high profile name for a cheap price which is the main problem , not the lack of funds or lack of quality players
