Heard Mourinho was making comments on how he prefers Nico over Lamine as a player.
Found it very hilarious, but not surprising at all. Mourinho has this understanding of football that values roadrunners and physically stronger players over actual footballers.
I must say I would love to see Lamine dunking on him for once in his career, but Messi already did it countless times and Mourinho hasn't learnt a thing. No point trying any further.
It is still pretty crazy how one of the leading figures in football who has so many people sticking to his philosophy can have so shit and delusional opinions.
Yeah, lots of people in football have crazy opinions. There's a lot of low IQ people in football which is why it amuses me when people say we should listen to footballers. They generally lack analytical skills and their football ability doesn't translate to analysis (I know this doesn't apply to Mourinho, just a general observation). Just the other day Phil Jones and Jamie Redknapp were talking nonsense about how good Fernandes had been against Forest because he scored - when anyone could see he had an awful game outside that.
To be fair to Mourinho he says Messi is the best player of our times so he isn't always just about athletes. But I get your point - he does seem quite old-school, valuing hard graft, power, pace, athleticism to make up for shortfalls in ability (not that his teams ever lacked ability but you get my point).
He always seemed best when he could play sit back and play counter-attacking football and introduce a 'siege mentality' where his players feel it's them against the world. Those aren'y my things really. The latter is probably why he doesn't last at clubs - his players become too intense and he and his teams burn out.
He's a finished manager anyway and has had one of the most sudden and biggest declines I have ever seen in a coach.
