19 - Lamine Yamal

DonAK

President of FC Barcelona
Flick had a nice talk with him.

I'm not worried whatsoever. Sometimes he dribbles into trouble or poor shots yeah, but if you go back and watch those situations he first looks for a pass/cross in the box, but it's difficult when Lewandowski drops down deep and doesn't have the legs and pace to make a well-timed run.

Can you imagine the ego anyone including you would have being 17 and basically doing the coolest thing ever with the maturity of a high schooler

Of course. He is not perfect.
Messi spoiled us with both his quality and attitude.

Players today are living in social media for large amount of time and it doesn't help them mentally. Barca official social media channels are complicit too. And cringe.

Lamine didn't do anything wrong but we should be careful with him, it's not easy getting this money and atention at 15/16 year old. He also has an infantile questionable father so it's not a given Lamine stays humble.

The club can't do much about his personal life but has to be careful that they don't give him to much power in the club. He can't demand anything and has to accept without fuss to be substituted at 17 years old. I'm afraid they'll give him too much power and money too soon, that's not good for him.

Messi had such power he would refuse to be subbed off and would go in a huge sulk if rested etc at times.

Far far worse than anything Yamal has shown.

From neither it is really arrogance or ego against their team mates and more just they love to be out on the park and grown up just about always playing and being the go to player.

His contract’s up in June 2026. The club will have to match other offers to keep him. He’s getting a large contract, there’s no two ways about it.

That's what I want to avoid for as long as we can. Messi got that status years later. It will also happen with Lamine probably but it shouldn't be at 17 years.

He should but hope don't go to crazy. Lamine, Mendes and the club are always very clear that he will renew, I think they already agreed something.

Watch the economists in here tell you that he shouldn't be the highest paid player because he's too young.

Tbf there's nothing we can do really. He can fuck off to Saudi for 1 billion euros whenever he likes. Players have too much power these days.

Dubious source. But if it's true, it would be crazy.

This guy's ego is already inflated, and you still give him 18 million euros gross at 18 years old.

He's an outliner, have to give him more than the rest.

That's just the way the game workers.

If we don't do the Messi renew every year thing, it should be fine.
