First you asked him to prove himself in the big domestic games ( Atleti and Classico ).

When that was done with ease, you claimed he needed to dominate a UCL knockout game.

When that was done with ease, you have now hedged your bets to 3 games of a season, which most players don't even have the chance to play ( UCL semis and final. )

Yet you have no problem calling Salah the best, who has failed massively in UCL knockouts ( for nearly 10 years ) and on the international stage as well.

And Mbappe world class ( Still waiting for him to appear in a UCL semi or final )

Or Vini world class ( Who turns in to Casper the Ghost when he puts on the Brazil jersey. )

Yes, and that's exactly how becoming a superstar works imo. A ladder with increasing difficulty. Every step he completes consistently is a chance to achieve the next level, and the next, and the next.

He doesn't even have to climb all of those steps in super fast time. At the moment he's jumping two steps at a time. Ultra fast for a 17 year old. But don't be surprised if there's a step that he can't climb at this moment, because in the end, he's still a kid.

He's already the marquee player and face of the club. We will probably win a big title this year, his standing will go hand in hand with our success and coming back from obscurity. He will get the #10 in the summer. Doesn't get much more 'superstar' than that. On performances he's already there as well. I don't think anyone would argue Mbappe or Vinicius have been better than him over the last year or so.

Way better than Vinicius. Mbappe is his only opponent.

Yeah, but that's not what I mean by superstar. That's superstar fame, but superstar football quality is directly tied to being a marquee difference maker in the biggest games for me. We need to wait and see if he is that special, or he will eventually prove his age and that he needs more time to access that transition.

That doesn't mean in the slightest that he is not a special player at the moment, but the jury is still out regarding his current level. What are we talking about in reality? Bright talent? Definitely. Top player? For sure. Best player in the world or even top 5? That's where it gets more complicated.

There's many candidates that are pumped up this season for various reasons. Dembele is on a roll, you have Kane who wants to prove himself at Bayern, Raphinha, Vinicius, Mbappe, Yamal, even Pedri can claim the spot. Hell, even Musiala can shine in the biggest games to come and steal the show.

It will make for a spectacular Champions League season. It already is one of the best in many years for me.

The current coaching staff agrees that it is 'a matter of time' before Lamine Yamal takes the direct free-kicks. @relevo

And that Barca team were really once in a lifetime. Not only about players, but also style of play, philosophy.

Once in a lifetime style only because of the managers we had after. And Yamal's proving golden barca still the most dominant style of play. We just need to bring Lucho and Puig back. Probably get rid of Deco since he's more about recruiting athleticism than tech.

Wouldn't mind him or someone else getting a shot at it.

Lewandowski and Raphinha never even come close to scoring off a FK no matter what the distance is.

Of course.

He will end on pens and FKs and over time start to play nearer the centre of park.

Happens with all the top top players.
