We're used by now 17y olds making a debut in the midfield or on the wings. But a 17 year old CB starting and holding ground against beasts like Bayern and Madrid is something else. You can't appreciate this enough.
The club must thank Xavi for his entire career to pull him up to the first team when he was about to join the City group. Without Xavi, we would have cried watching him playing under Pep by now for City.
He's a 100m+ defender in the making, who cost the club absolutely nothing.

Vini celebrated a blocked pass from Cuba in the first half as if he scored. Made me think of that Michael Owen video "well done he's 13".

I will continue to say he deserves to be hyped as much as Yamal. This guy is crazy smart.
I agree with this. Also, should be noted that we have seen very few central defenders in football history perform with so much confidence, intelligence, excellence, precision and experience (even though nobody knows where it's coming from) at the age of Cubarsi or close. Actually, I don't know if we've ever seen one.

Same can be said for Lamine. Although plenty of attackers managed to perform at a big level close to Lamine's age, I don't think anybody has done it this good (winning Euros for your country, silencing Bernabeu and humiliating whole Bayern squad etc...).

They are both prodigies. That have sufficient potential to turn into all time greats. We are blessed to have them both in our squad. Other clubs would pay hundreds of milions for this.

Maldini maybe. Got in the Milan first team at 16 in 1984. Still, we won't have watched him week in week out back then so we can't know how good he was at that age.

He was likely class though. And if Cubarsi can have 80 percent of Maldini's career and reputation Barca will be smiling.

@Fati_Future_BallonDor you probably seen Maldini in the B team.

Hopefully you can give some good insights of the hype when Maldini made his Milan debut.

This was his poster for yesterday's match but some chose to call it "rash".... :ROFLMAO:

it was the best option at that instance when an opposing player with pace and a lot of trickery like Vini is few feet ahead of you and bearing down into your box.

I never took to him at first but gradually being won over by his decision-making.

well done curba!!
