I rate him highly as a manager on the attacking side of the game (easily best in the world, especially given the player limitations he has).

But this defensive tactic is more prone to coming apart against more serious opponents in high leverage situations, which we will face more and more en route to a CL win.

Dortmund, Bayern/Inter, RM/Pool is the likely path.

Yes, we destroyed RM and Bayern already. But I'm not too sure if we can do it again in a CL semi or final with these same tactics.

I'm hopeful, but I see potential for disaster.
The reason I am confident in him both offensively and defensively is that it's clear he knows what he's doing. I trust him to see the game better than we do. Which wasn't the case under previous managers.

We didn't have tactical vision under Koeman and Xavi. We played nothing football.

But we have a clear attacking style AND clear defensive tactic now which we continue to refine. That is 5 clean sheets in 7 games now despite playing with the same defensive technique.

So even despite the issues we can point out, in this case, I genuinely think we can say that Flick's analysis and tactical vision is good enough such that he sees what we see and he knows the pros and cons of this style.

Pedri too weak in the challenge and the one who played it through not the striker.

That put them all off balance while trying to play offside.

Breakdown all round.

Correct!
As the last man on being slightly disadvantaged by positioning because both CDs did not think Pedri would lose the ball that softly, he had to intervene. I am sure he must have felt confident of getting the ball before going for the tackle.....hence that option. Replay showed he went for the ball, would have got it if not for that slight bubble.

Being a CD myself, I was not a fan before now but have been super impressed by this kid. Good decision-making. With more years, he will be great.

You have to remember that this is his first season. It's important to establish a base that the players understand perfectly well so they can get used to it and become less prone to errors. After that confidence has been built up, then the system can be tweaked. I bet that from next season we'll start to see him adapting to each game as it comes, but for now he needs to instill that confidence in the players. Flick is an intelligent manager so I have no doubt he can do it
