Olmo doesn't have that passing ability of KDB. KDB has devastating through ball/cross.

Olmo also isn't really a chance creator. He is a great AM anyway. Always look for attack and goal.

While we were on the topic of Pedri and the incredibly high standards we hold him to, let's have a look at Olmo.

He has 5 goals so far this season, with 0 assists. He's a chance creation machine with his ability to find space and play progressive passes or shooting, but not made the final pass himself yet.

Interesting tidbit.

Pedri actually averages more key pass per game than Olmo this season so far.

It's where the eye test skews the perception. Olmo is incredibly quick and decisive in his actions making him seem more productive, while both actually have the same goal contributions.

Best midfield for this season seems Casado-Pedri, Olmo anyways, so let's hope all stay free as they compliment each other tremendously.

Good point. xA is 1.41 so he should have more than 0 assists,
xA per 90 is 0.47, only behind Baena at 0.49.

He has 4 chances created in 270 minutes. Per 90 that's 1.33 chances created. In comparison Raphinha is at 3.8 and Yamal 2.4.

Conclusion? Played very little minutes so far, but has created good chances. Quality over quantity.

Totally normal considering their respective positions.

Olmo doesnt work very hard and have the not so flattering habit to go invisible. Although he takes on defensive duties from time to time, he seem at times to dissappear. Im not totatlly sold on him yet despite the obvious impact he kind of have had and should have.
