So funny to see everyone come around on Olmo when back when Gundo was leaving everyone was hating on Laporta and Olmo saying he would be a bust.

Anyone with eyeballs should have known Olmo was going to be as close to a lock as possible for being a great player for us

Myself and @Don Juan Laporta Estruch on here have always talked up Olmo, to be fair. I have consistently rated him over several years now. But I acknowledge that is because every time I watched him he had a great game.

I wondered if I was just getting lucky when watching him but apparently not - he is THIS good. But still, he must maintain this level and so must the team. Lots of work still to do.

Hope you are well by the way, mate.

Don was complaining about the signing the entire summer to be fair 😂.

But also to be fair, almost every on here was, bar a few.

Was he lol? I only joined/started posting at the end of June but I remember him being enthusiastic. I think maybe he must have came around, his positive posts stay in my mind.

As for me, as I say, I think I am lucky in that he always plays well when I watch him. Tends to be big games, too. Maybe I am his lucky charm :ROFLMAO:

I initially thought we wouldn't need him. I guess I was a little blinded by Fermin's spectacular Olympics. His quality was always undeniable, after that Euro especially but before too.

The truth is we can indeed work without him, but he makes this team soo much better. Fermin, Raphinha, even Pedri - all of them could fill his role. But none of them matches Olmo's class on that position.

The only area I remain skeptical about when it comes to his signing is his constant injuries. He is a fantastic player when fit, but "when fit" remains the key word. If his injuries stop or at least are controlled a little, which definitely can happen by frequently rotating him with a lot of quality we have on that number 10 position, then his signing is perfect move and those 60m huge bargain.

Yes I was. In the same way I willl be complaining this summer if we spend our whole transfer budget on a player whose position we are over booked in whilst ignoring positions we are weak in.

If we sign Rodri for 100m, I will be pissed as hell. That doesn't mean I think Rodri won't be amazing for Barca, because he would. Context is everything.

Although I also admit to being pleasantly surprised by just how good Olmo is, like everyone else. This is due to me never having seen a full 90 in league football of Olmo. The few full Leipzig games I had seen, Olmo was always injured.

Upon seeing a full 90 of his, I immediately became a huge vocal supporter of his ( saying he is miles better than Jude and the best in the world ( which was laughed at at the time) ), which is what Maradona37 is referring to.

You're welcome
Personally, I think of Olmo as the Spanish Thomas Muller. KDB isn't far off but I would have him in a higher tier.

What? I barely watch Bayern but Olmo is way more vertical player and more comfortable on ball than Thomas. Thought Muller was type player that mostly delivers and pops up in final third. Plays as second striker at times and with back to goal.

Kdb comparison I can understand a bit more.
