no? it is unfair that they cancelled it last year. there was no reason not to: there was still a full soccer season. if they were concerned about public health measures they could have awarded it virtually. there really is no good reason why the 2020 bdor should have been cancelled.

yeah--no. messi had a brilliant copa, thats what his merit rests on. lewa has most goals in 2021 by far and has been consistently the best player all year around.

WTF are you talking about? He had a great second half of last season. He scored 20 goals from January until April and added 8 assists. He was excellent during that period. From September trough December he was bad. However, Lewa did nothing with his national team.

In the end this is 2021 Ballon d'Or and not 2020. And that's where story ends. If they gave 2020 Ballon d'Or to Lewa no one would object but if they don't want to do that Messi is the clear favorite for 2021.

Eh, I wouldn't consider forum/fan opinions definitive. Because by that metric there's been a few Messi - CR7 polls on Redcafe (a Manchester United forum) over the last few years and Messi's won most of them.

It's the opinion of past footballing greats/legends that really matters to me.
