Yes. Mostly advertising, tv contracts and sponsors. The sport is huge. College football alone can sell out stands, hell high school can and both are like the equivalent of watching developmental academy players go at it.

How's the Football fan following/awareness in general big town populations right now?

Oh no I never liked American football. So from like August to Feburary I have to bear the onslaught of college football/NFL everywhere.

NFL TV contracts is huge because the US is by far the biggest sporting market In the world & NFL is the kingpin of American sports, average viewership for the NFL is 2/3x if not more than the 2nd sport.

Add that to the fact that advertisers can put there products/service Infront of more eyeballs due to breaks in the sport & that explains the HUGE contracts.

How many ads do you see while watching a actually football match? Must skip the half time show, so maybe 1 at most 2.

I mean to put things in perspective. Most of the so called big stadiums in Europe pale in comparison to any modern NFL stadium. I live near Dallas Cowboys stadium which has been around like 10 years and it is night and day to the Camp Nou or new stadiums like Tottenham Hotspur stadium. Hell, most of the SEC college football stadiums are bigger than European powerhouse club stadiums. Still prefer Club football all day.
