Trent on a free?
Defensively I don't think he's much better than Hector Fort, maybe even worse

But offensively he would up our team to a different level for sure. Him and Lamine would make a deadly duo.

Either way pointless to think of it, if he's leaving Pool he's doing it for Madrid. They want him, he'll be a starter, has a buddy there and generally much more attractive to him probably.

Yamal is not the most active player in terms of defense. Plus Trent on the right flank of the defense. Do you understand what the opponent will do with the right flank of Barcelona's defense? Do I need to explain?

Much was made of the Liverpool full-back Trent Alexander-Arnold being dribbled past 12 times during the weekend's game against Manchester City.

Unnecessary reactions. He made a bad pass and slipped on another.....those can never be the main reasons the team dropped the ball......

The drop in control and pressing after the substitutions was the main culprit. Bringing Gavi, Fermin and Garcia was a massive drop in contribution.

Contrary to many here, I had always felt Kounde wss a more vulnerable and an unstable full back unlike the completely blind focus on Balde( who gets criticised week in week out even as he has more than exceeded expectations for the dual roles he plays on the left side). But on this occasion, he was ok. Team failed collectively.

There were many misplaced passes, failed attempts to dribble, failed trivela attempts, etc, by many players in the match, it was just unfortunate that his led to a goal. Again, he slipped but everyone conveniently forgot that the central defenders lost their men too just like Pedri was ball ball watching for the first goal conceded.

I think people are just looking for a scape goat. He was good.

I doubt it. He's physics freak. Just look at his face. He's retarded. Probably around 80-90 IQ. Can't expect him to be Barca level player.
80-90 IQ players don't just adapt from centre back to right back in so little time and maintain a level that largely satisfies their coaches, except for a few games.

If he's a physical freak it doesn't immediately mean he's a low iq bozo. He's a very intelligent footballer.

Fatigue.
Over 3.1k minutes, before February is over, is insane and madness. iirc he was also the player with most minutes in Europe in 2024.
He is getting abused by the club playing all those minutes

Not knowing how to handle the ball is not fatigue...

Not misplacing passes is not fatigue...

Not having positional awareness when attacking is not fatigue...

Don't think it's fatigue tho. He was never good at any of those things. He has had some great performances over the years, but he's definitely not a reliable player. Another brainfart is just a second away for him. He's very similar to Ter Statue in that.

Absolutely it can affect it.
He had a decent touch for inverted defensive FB. But he had awful nights when he gets overplayed

No man, that can never happen.
Either you have a good touch with the ball or you don't.

Messi or Lamine or tons of other footballers will never make a bad touch with the ball no matter how tired they are...

Fatique can affect runs, stamina, intensity, other aspects of the game.
Which BTW have not been affected even 1%. Even in one such horrendous game, like the last one, Kounde was running up and down the flank constantly

It's a fact that Kounde never had a good sense and touch of the ball.
And in general, attacking-wise, he has bad instincts in every facet of the attacking game

Has had only one brainfart though. vs Celta.

A bad pass 60m away from your goalkeeper or a slip when you move forward and suddenly have to chance direction to the opposite way is not a brainfart. These things happen.

You can say Cubarsi being dominated in the air in 2 successive plays causing the 1st goal is a brainfart. Or Pedri not covering his zone for the 3rd goal is another brainfart if you monitor every individual mistake.

We can consider ourselves lucky Kounde almost never gets injured. We'd be in deep shit if he wasn't so reliable in this way.

Normally, football is a game of errors. Most of our goals vs Atletico were also a result of errors from their team. If you want to look at blunders, you have Tek and Araujo vs Benfica, Kounde vs Celta, Stegen and Garcia vs Monaco. The next in line for big errors, but not quite blunders are Casado vs Atletico, Tek vs Mbappe red card in the Supercup. Not that many tbh.
