Better than Araujo and should stay. Defenders like him peak in later years and read the game very well, on top of his passing ability

There is no reason to start Araujo over him, at least against Alaves. In big UCL games, against those world class attackers Araujo should probably have a spot but he has no business in these games when he can't pass a ball.

The passing of Cubarsi, Inigo and Garcia is levels ahead anyone elses.. Christensen is good but not on those threes level.

He defended those through balls well when the offiside trap was not one.

The CBs are so exposed they are going to make mistakes but limiting them and being the base for building play goes a long way.

I still wouldn’t trust him in big games but he has improved alot recently. Another player who seems to be reborn under Flick. His passing is miles ahead of Araujo, understands the offside trap aswell. Now imagine if you said that about three years ago.
