New Pique, eh? We haven't had a defender emerge through cantera in years.
Hopefully he makes it.

Immense talent. And very modest for his age. Also scores a lot of goals. Can't find a single weakness yet.

Very disappointing.

Can say all you want about lose some, gain others and all that, but for the last few years we're only losing talented players.

Can't just be players looking for greener pastures. Perhaps they don't trust the La Masia management higher up anymore as Grimaldo touched upon.

Then going to City doesn´t make sense.

Hopefully it kills his career.

Sour grapes but choosing money and hope it comes back to haunt him.

Sooner UK leave the EU the better!

Would be a stupid move pep will not play youngsters. Did last year and now the squad is going to be even more stacked.

If He's going to City in hopes that he will have a chance of playing for the main team down the line, well I have some bad news for him.

City has a really good academy, but like Chelsea very rarely promote within. and with Pep talking about how big the gap is between the First and U-23 teams are in England vs Barcelona and Barca B (using as an example) the odds of Garcia being promoted then being a main stay aren't very high when the time comes.

But who knows tbh.

Pure speculation of course. La Masia has always bled great talents to the PL, from Bellerin, Toral, Cesc and Fran Merida and now to Eric Garcia it would seem. Whether it's actually La Masia that has a problem currently, or just Grimaldo who has a grudge against Lucho (and visa versa, it would seem) we can't possible tell.

Since the overhaul that Barto and co did in 2014 I would say we didn't lose many talents before Barca B. We have been in fact being able to retain most of them.
There will always be those who leaves, just like there is those who join us.

The kid is 16. That's typically the age where we find out if a La Masia player's loyalty truly lies with us. Nothing that can be done about it. Grimaldo's comments had more to do with the first team (More precisely, Lucho, and he was right) than anything. It's hard to believe the kid who made his Barca B debut at 15 has complaints about La Masia management not trusting young players.

Garcia leaving is a blow but it's not as if we're doomed without him. There will be more talent coming through, there always has been and there always will be.

Edit: Remember Sergi Canos and Tonny Sanabria? Our brightest forward prospects who both left for the money. Now one is in the 2nd division of England as a backup and the other is a backup for Betis, while Sandro is going on to play for Atletico in January. Even Grimaldo leaving was a massive blow but out of basically nowhere Cucu exploded when promoted to Juvenil A and is expected to be a first team player within 2 seasons.

Eric Garcia is the best la masia CB. We can't afford to loose him. To be honest I think he will stay like Nico Gonzales.
