For years he's getting paid millions just to sit at home and scratching his balls, while millions working their arse off and earning like what? 1/10 of his salary??! Belgium was weak yesterday but Vermaelen was again the best Belgian. He was the biggest doubt in our team but after 3 matches he's the most consistent player. He proves it, fit = he still is by the top CB's of Europe. Some of you will laugh but the ones who saw these games won't deny it.

He has been brilliant these past few games. Shows al lot of determination and dedication. He's back to his old form at his early Arsenal days (which he never had at Barcelona). Honestly, never taught he still had it in him. Hopefully, for him and for Belgium, he can stay healthy for the next few games.

In Belgian press, there were rumours last week West Ham were interested. Seems like an ideal fit for him: decent team, but not the very top-level anymore, and his wife is from London. So win-win. Hope he finds his spot for the next years. And remains fit.

I really hope good this good performances will be enough to convince some club to buy him. If he could stay healthy for half of the season I'd be ok with keeping him but I just don't have any faith for that to happen so sell him for whatever we can get.

As much as i like my fellow countrymen Vermaelen (who grew up not that fat from me) i think if Barcelona can buy another centerback and get a decent price for Vermaelen (10 mil) they should sell him. When fit he is quality but he remains injuryprone.
