That's not only on zubi, though. He can't sign players on his own. The whole board agreed to this. They all need to leave. I don't know which would be worse: If this was a shady deal, or a dumb one.

I disagree. I think he had a say too. Probably backed up zubi, as he was zubi's choice himself.

The board should have signed a world class CB as Puyol's replacement and someone like Mathieu who could offer competition and versatility in the back. But instead they went and signed Mathieu as their #1 purchase and threw over 10 millions away for this no good washed up overrated cripple excuse of a player! Anyone with a minimum of brain knew about the injury history of this guy, yet these fucktards, among all the possible options, with the transfer ban right around the corner, went and signed this piece of garbage who have to sit on his ass for an entire season! Fucking hell I can't get these people!!

Yes. He went along with it. New coach or not, look at what Bielsa said about Doria. Lucho backed up Douglas as well.

Lucho had a big say in the players signed, it seems he had the final say.
But remember Pep never had a say in all players signed by Barca so this idea that 'Surely any reputable manager with a bit of dignity has a say in signing players' isnt accurate.

I think Pep also had a fair bit of share in the signings although he probably trusted Txiki and others judgement when we signed Henrique and other scrubs like Lucho probably did when these guys signed Douglas.
Vermaelen is a different case though, he is a well-known player and his injury problems is well-known around the world as well. Add to the fact that it seem like even the medical team begged them not to sign him so this one looks really bad.
