Lost in all the Zubi outrage is poor guy Vermaelen who can't catch a break with these injuries. Poor guy. He was a good player and injuries have devastated his career the past 4 years.

He didn't. And the doctors recommended not to sign him.

Yeah, he had the longest medical in Barca's history no doubt. Also, the fact that Barca only announced the "principal of agreement" after he passed his medical was very fishy, normally they already announce that the day before the medical.

Anyway, everybody knew that signing an injury-prone player like Vermaelen was a massive risk. It's really incomprehensible that Vermaelen was our only alternative to Marquinhos, but yeah, not many defenders fit the Barca-profile eh
