24 - Thomas Vermaelen

Lost in all the Zubi outrage is poor guy Vermaelen who can't catch a break with these injuries. Poor guy. He was a good player and injuries have devastated his career the past 4 years.

I really feel like going into a deep slumber and waking up in 2016 with a new board and Sporting director. But for messi, ney suarez and bartra. you think these crooks even do any planning. selling thiago and passing up on isco was detrimental to this club, showed they had no plan to re-invigorate the midfield/team properly.

Thank god we can now see this thread sink lower and lower so we don't have to keep slamming our keyboards everytime it's updated.

Fifa thought they could transfer ban us but our transfer guru's found away around it. Vermaelen new signing 2015 :tito:

Barcelona think they can sign a new player (should have played less than 5 games this season) now that Vermaelen has long-term injury. [ser] :tito:

Isn't the transfer ban under effect already?

But probably Zubi and co. are not aware of that...

Amidst all this, I wish him a full and speedy recovery and hope he got people close to him to support him. Must be really difficult with all these injuries.

Despite transfer ban, Barcelona could be allowed to sign out-of-contract player to replace Vermaelen. But they don't plan to do it. [catr]

Also. How did he pass his medical when he was obviously injured at the time and has a history of muscle injuries?

He didn't. And the doctors recommended not to sign him.

But the genius Zubi ignored their advice.
Yeah, he had the longest medical in Barca's history no doubt. Also, the fact that Barca only announced the "principal of agreement" after he passed his medical was very fishy, normally they already announce that the day before the medical.

Anyway, everybody knew that signing an injury-prone player like Vermaelen was a massive risk. It's really incomprehensible that Vermaelen was our only alternative to Marquinhos, but yeah, not many defenders fit the Barca-profile eh :lucho:

Van Crombrugge (team doctor BEL): "Vermaelen's recovery will take a few months, but at least all will be fine then, no more doubts." [rac1]
