Flick: "Eevery game Szczesny has more confidence... I knew he could play at this level because I see him every day in training."

Szczęsny: "The team played a great game today. We had character. We showed that we can win games by fighting."

Szczesny: "I liked my save in the 25th minute. When we played here a month ago we conceded a lot of goals, so it was important to not concede today."

Szczesny: "After the red card, we knew we couldn't play that open. We needed to play with more defensive organization. We played with discipline and reduced the counter attacks."

Szczęsny: "We are very happy, but the work is not done yet... We have to finish the job."

Was this your best match for Barcelona? Wojciech Szczęsny: "My best match is yet to come."

Szczesny is the first Barcelona goalkeeper since 2004 to make 8 saves without conceding a goal in the Champions League.

The sinusoid is way up, hopefully still raising.

He also has the knack of panelty kicks. Might prove vital, in case of stalemates and PKs.

Fun fact - previous record of a victory in UCL playing with 10 men for the longest time was 61 minutes by Juventus vs Valencia in 2018. Juve won 2-0 (2 penalties).

Guess who was the Juventus goalie back then :)

What I saw was a lot of saves you would surely expect any gk to make. And then a very ugly blunder taking down Belotti on the offside pen.
The guy was being praised after conceding 4 vs Atletico, go figure.

About last night, he did well, but again his performance is way overrated. First shot I think was the hardest one, the rest were straight at him and nothing that any decent GK wouldn't save. Dunno were these comparisons with Alisson's performance are coming from, the Brazilian faced way harder shots from better attackers.

All in all the polak had his part in us getting a result and his form seems to be improving. Good job
