This 4 man midfield has brought the best out of everyone. Busquets is much more protected, Frenkie has freedom to move between the lines... And plus since we switched to it we barely concede anymore.

We conceded too much with the 433.

With lack of money for starting LW, we wil need to play with this formation.

This is Xavi's go to formation in Qatar, so doubt he will change it.

Also our transfer targets are Gundogan (Gavi replacement) and one more CB.

Only way Barca dont get worse at 433 is if Xavi drops Gavi which seems unlikely.

Or they go FDJ/Pedri deeper and Gavi at AM but then losing Pedri furher up for inferor player.

The Pedri/Gavi CM has not been nearly good enough for Barca or Spain and FDJ at B2B is best mid with Pedri and would be more of FDJ at DM.

This formation suits Balde anyway. More so than having a winger on front of him.

I think a 3-4-2-1 would suffice. Kounde-Araujo-Christensen at the back, Dembele and Balde as wing-backs, Frenkie-a DM double pivot and Gavi and Pedri further forward behind Lewandowski

Yea the biggest benefit of the 4 man Midfield is what it does for busquets & FDJ, if we continue play it we will need a faster striker then lewa to take it to the next level.

If we go back to 4-3-3, which i think we will play most games next season & 4-4-2 in the big games, busquets just can't start when we go to 4-3-3.

The four man midfield is benefitting Gavi more than anyone else.

FDJ and Pedri had multiple MOTM performances in 433 this season... Both of them being MOTM in number of roles also. Gavi not had one even top game in a three.

This idea it benefits FDJ and Busi is usual shite.

FDJ can play in this same role in a three man midfield going box to box, supporting as a second DM or covering for a FB to get forward depending on what team needs.

Any coach in their right mind has FDJ and Pedri as first two names down in midfield whether three or four mids on park.

Best chance Gavi has is if the three is FDJ and Pedri deeper and he is in at AM.

Then if had attacking right back could go Dembele left and Raphinha and at that AM type wide role Gavi currently plays on other side.
