You all need to watch the first half again. He was awful and Bayerns every attack came through diagonals to olise who was alone every time.
Henry also called him out too he was really bad tonight

Yes that is true but the reason for that has been mentioned here before. Flick's system is to have one atttacking full back and one defensive. Kounde sits for the most part and is very rarely found in attacking areas. Lamine is assigned the right attacking zone.

Ale has to push up in order to provide left sided width as Raphinha is assigned to move more centrally. Without Ale occupying the left attacking zone, Raphinha has to occupy that space and not the central space. Which means Raph is not in the position to score his 1st and 3rd goals.

Ale can be beaten with this stick of leaving the left back space open all season long, but people need to understand the huge benefits he is bringing by playing so high up as well.

Thing is, unless you are absolutely a killer in offense, and Balde isn't that yet, you have to be pretty good in defense too, which Balde isn't.

So... Balde either ups his offensive contributions by a lot in time, or he improves in defense and becomes a more balanced fullback. Balanced fullbacks are Alves, Carvajal, Lahm. Offensive fullbacks are Alba, Marcelo, Alves, Carlos. Yeah, Alves is the only one that I've seen and has been a motor on both ends.

Exactly.

I don't know why people keep talking, without seeing how he's being used tactically.

In the 2nd half when he played as a more traditional FB, he was very good.

Thought he did okay in the 2nd half defensively. Problem with him going forward is he really is starting to remind me of Dembele with his final third decision making..
