3 - Alejandro Balde

Let it go bro.

Best thing for him would be to move to a low level league and make some nice money.

Should go to Sevilla and revive his career under Pimi. I still believe if he can stay fit for 6 months he would start to bang goals. The talent is still there.

Balde is good for some games but not for a game like yesterday. We could have Valle who is more creative and better on the ball but we didn't give him a chance because?

Cancelo would be great for this kind of matches as an offenisve option for RB/LB but the problem with him is that he wouldn't accept a bench role so that wasn't an option.

The full-back is often one of the most decisive attacking pieces in these kinds of games. The quality and creativity of the crosses yes but also the runs they make.

I remember when we faced a low block in Guardiola days, the way we often broke it was through this typical move of the full-back making a run, receiving the ball from the controller and passing it back across to the striker first time.

That move was pure gold when the timing was right.

I have to wonder, was having a veteran like Alba actually crucial to him? It feels like his best season was his first when Alba was here.

It could be just the motivation of a rookie, or having a competition for the position. It could also be that having a good advisor behind your ears is helpful.

Very average player that got hyped since Barca has no one better.
Decent level at young age, low potential type.
Happened a thousand times before.

I also think Balde didn't change since then, it was just us fans who hyped him up because Jordi was slowing down and we wanted someone new. He's still young and can develop but he'll never be amazing in ofense and I think both our coaches use him wrong. He should play deeper, not as a winger and he'll look better. That could happen if we sign a real LW.

Pretty much every La Masia player bar the actual good ones. If they were smart they would play them early and sell them off hype. Gavi was once valued at like 80-90m on transfermarket

I think only Yamal and Cubarsi are a sure thing for a longterm starter at a top club, could also add Casado and I have big hopes for Bernal. The jury is still out for Balde and Gavi.

I've never understood how Balde was seen as a long term solution for LB. In our truly desperate state with a washed up Alba , of course he was a breath of fresh air but even in his first season where he supposedly peaked , you could tell there wasn't much to his offensive game.

He's the kind of player that would be a backup squad player in most big teams. I genuinely thing he could be the player between us and winning titles - nor because he's that terrible , we have worse players , but because of how much the LB sees the ball in our style of play especially since we have no LW.

if he was lying deep and making overlaps on the side of Lamine, his lack of offensive prowess could be somewhat hidden. But given our team, I just can't see us being successful in the long run until we get a proper LW or an attacking LB.
