3 - Alejandro Balde

Another player that the club could have taken advantage of in the market.

He showed a lot of promise under Xavi, yet still, there were talks of 70-80m being thrown out for him. Even if he kept good form, it should still have been considered.

Madrid would sell such players without thinking twice and make huge money. No emotion involved in the majority of their business decisions and they consider sales regardless of sentiment.

How much could we have made for the likes of Fermin, Balde, Gavi, and purchased truly proven world-class players with the money?

We never consider selling high, only sell low when players are in terrible form and nobody wants to pay much for them.

Sounds good doesn’t work

It’s how Real Madrid ended up with no Hakimi
Cant make an omelette without breaking eggs... there will always be sales a team will regret but the best business approach is to be open minded.

We have a player like Fermin who whilst okay is clearly not of Barca quality, when we could have cashed 30-40m for him after the Olympics.

Only La Masia DNA sentiment prevents us from being clear minded here.

Yeah idk we need some squad depth end of the day just because he isn’t starter material doesn’t mean he doesn’t have a role and we need to fire sale everyone

When you have Gerrad FRECKING Martin as a sub, ofcouse you get these performances.

I was wrong in thinking getting Davies would stifle his career. Nah, fuck it, get Davies, and if having Davies makes him leave, so be it.
Fuck this shit.

I'm sure Davies or Grimaldo would have some interest in joining us if we sounded them out.
Davies is perfect opportunity. Balde can be back up. Maybe id rather go for grimaldo but considering free agent we need to try. We are going nowhere with balde and kounde as fb. I had my share of sympathies for balde, but kid is atrocious, besides his pace which he doesnt use properly btw, he cant beat 1 vs 1 in attack, constant bullied in defense, player go through him like through butter.

Ya so he should be benched. If you cant keep up for 90min, after a week of rest, while being conditioned for 4 months straight.

You are not built for this team.

And you are wrong here, he saw the man fairly late, and just didnt bother to close down.

Nobody can keep up.
This is trash football.
And not realistic.
And he did not see the man late. He saw him.. he just could not.

Hard disagree.

If thats the case, then he's not cut for the team.
Guy is 21 years old, younger than Raf, and Raf runs and tracks back more than him.
The last goal, you can see Raf in the box. If he can do it, atelast the young players can do it aswel.

Infuriating player. Molina started the run 20 meters behind him and finished it 20 meters ahead. Pulverized him. I tought he at least is supposed to have speed and pace.

At this rate, he is gonna play for Celta with Mingueza soon.

Our last defensive action was a total tactical chaos.

No one defending on the left side.
Balde was in attack.

No one defenfing on the right side.
Kounde was in attack.

Defensive midfielder Eric moving to the left and trying to stop their counter.
Balde not marking Molina who came from behind him.
Inigo in attack.

Only Cubarsi, Raf and Pedri in the middle tracking back.

A total chaos.

But then, it makes you wonder: if we have so many players upfront, we should score lots of goals, right?
But no.

In the attack, majority of them are sterile and don't know how to score.
Yet in the defense, it is a total chaos.

In short, we have:
Sterile attack
Chaotic defense
Too many ball-keeping-possession-recycling players.

Other teams in the last few years (except City) who are winning trophies, are creating chances and goals by giving away some possession in order to "invite" the opponent up and to kill him on the counter when there is more space (Spain won the Euros in that way).

Atletico is not playing on possession.
Rm is not playing only on possession.

Extreme possession game is not the problem.
If we would have 5 scorers in the team, like prime City, than high possession is good.

But with sterile finishers, suicidal high offside trap and chaotic defending = we end as a team who mostly controls the match, leaves "the eye-pleasing feeling" to our fans, misses numerous chances and concedes simple, cheap, naive counterattacking goals.
