Araujo is a good player but not without weaknesses.
First and foremost, he's injury prone. There's never been a season when he did not miss some part of it due to injuries. It's very difficult to build a team with fully fit players as it is. And it is even more difficult to build a team when you can't really on a player not to miss a big chunk of a season. In that sense he is not like Kounde. Every season there is some injury that prevents him from playing in important matches, which is frustrating for a lot of people.
It doesn't help that he is willing to play for the national team even when injured. Having another Umtiti or Luke Shaw on a long contract, will not help Barca neither financially nor in the sporting sense.
Araujo is bad on the ball or, lets just say, seems to lose his composure when is targeted or pressed. PSG match was a clear evidence of it.
Sometimes he is also unreliable and can lose his head during an important match, can easily get a red card or such. Sergio Ramos also got a lot of red cards. But at least when it was important, he always delivered important matches.
On the plus side, he's fast, athletic, loved by teammates, which makes selling him a difficult decision. And that decision needs to be thought through very well. But at some point Barca needs to learn how to do smart business like Real Madrid and papa Perez. Buy low and sell high, sell players even if it seems they can still deliver. One of the biggest mistakes of the Barto era, wasn't getting rid of players when it was time such as Alba, Pique and others. To be honest, the list could be infinitely long. And then you are stock with players who are also on very high wages and who nobody wants even your club.
