If he does stay, as I suspected, the whole saga leaves a sour taste and not from his side but from the club. The guy is as good a defender out there and it seems obvious to me that they weren't prepared to pay him as much as the likes of Kounde, Inigo and probably Tah.
We have had the 3 best players in the history of football ( Messi, R9 and Maradona ). One we let go on a free and the other 2 we sold in their prime.
Obviously Ronald is not at that level, but he really should have been prioritised and done and dusted months ago. It boggles my mind that we would be prepared to lose him over a few million in wages.
Our Sporting Department will continue to be a massive problem in the future. It's self destructive nature hasn't gone away from the days of R9 and El Diego, unfortunately.
