As much as I'm glad to see Puyol take on a role that'll keep him close to the club I am a bit worried how it'll look vis-a-vis future Barca establishment.
Voluntarily or not, he basically aligned himself with Rosell/Bart camp. Laporta returns to run, what happens?

Puyol stays at the club. Don't think the man will be anyone's cronie.

Puyol is such a club legend by himself, his employment really shouldn't have anything to do with who's in charge at the top, so he's pretty much isolated from all of that. He's so popular that any talk of firing him would be met with enormous resistance from the fans, so I doubt any future president would ever even suggest it if he wishes to remain popular. It's very important to keep a figure like Puyol in the club.
