He really misses playing doesn't he?

I feel bad for him, I don't think he enjoys the sports director role very much, it's pretty evident in his recent comments that he still wants to play competitively.

I am sure most retired players do, but you gotta move on. Atleast he'll still be at the club in some capacity :)

New Inter Milan coach Mancini called Puyol earlier this week to ask him to become his assistant. Puyol didn't accept the offer. [gazzetta]

I think it would have been good for him and then he would have returned to Barca as a coach

Agreed. Pep certainly benefited from his days in Italy. He would also distance himself from the current board.

Raaaaaaaawwwr!! Awesome if it could happen. But I think Puyol is a AC Milan fan, as he always admired Paolo Maldini.

Anything Puyol touches blossoms. Maybe he doesn't want to be coach but there's no way you can't want him in your dressing room one way or another. I never saw Puyol as motivational type leader, Masch is more like that- though he did have those qualities but more I saw him as someone who shows you how you need to do things and act, someone to look up to, a caretaker whose sole presence may you know everything would be alright. Puyol is full of good vibes.
