I wasn't for him being promoted right now,but instead of wasting money on some shitty player from la liga might as well give him the chance

So since Valverde doesn't count on Gomes or Arda and we failed to sign a midfielder, why not give him a promotion? Kid almost 20, so it's not like he's too young anymore to be considered for first team football.

This should be the season to integrate him into the first team and see what his potential is at the top level.

He will definitely be integrated IMO. Kid looks great, needs experience. Should be brought against minnow teams at Camp Nou, not in Lucho style at away games after Real fails to materialize on their game. Fucking retard...jesus I hate that guy.

I kinda feel sorry for him to have to develop under Gerard's random tactics less football. If he succeeds it will because of a long series of miracles. I watch the Granada and it was a mess, the midfield especially. Nobody knew what they role was, on several occasions I saw two players covering the same position at the same time. I seriously hope he spends most of the season with the first team, cause Gerard's Lucho tactics are not conducive to player development, they might get you wins and draws but not players into the first team. This is the main reason why we haven't promoted anyone in the last three years, bad coaching from juvenile b—>Barca B. In the players most crucial years of development they get bad tactical training and are expected to be ready for the first team. I don't want to see our best hope Alena continuing with this lack of direction. If you want to see for your self just watch him vs Juventus compared to all the games he's played with Gerard.

If they stay he will probably come to nothing too, said it way way back it all starts at the top, if you have a president that strongly emphasizes the youth, the coach will have no choice but to play certain players.

If you have a president that stands for nothing, then we will fall for paulinho

Haven't seen him play yet, is he more a Xavi or Iniesta, or more a hybrid (Thiago)?

I wouldn't compare him to either one tbh. He has good dribbling skills but he's not going to dazzle four to five people at once like Iniesta used to, and his passing is very solid but he's not the tempo controller that Xavi was. In that sense he's probably more like Thiago, except he is more prone to run towards goal with the ball and take a shot.

One of the best things about Alena is his confidence to play Barca midfielders should. He wants the ball in tight areas he tries to make things happen and does it with a swagger.

Far from finished articleyet but refreshing to see compared to likes of Gomes and Raki who dont have that.
