He's not comparing Alena to Rakitic, he's comparing Alena to a Rakitic who is so massively overplayed and tired out that he can barely run, nevermind contribute to the team in a positive way.

Since last year I've been saying that Alena biggest challenge for 1st team football is that he played way advanced on the pitch, a lot of times he might be in same line with attackers which isn't the way 1st team midfielders play.
But when Messi playing false 9, Alena is perfect fit actually, he does the defensive work when we lose the ball, but advance in front of Messi when we have it, this happened couple of times yesterday including the gaol. which allows Messi to be the "playmaker" he wants to be without being a liability on defense.

Nice, I agree. Just happy he kept playing in Barca B, cause that gave him playing time, hope he can continue to do that when he's certain not to play with the A team.
That's actually the way to go, instead of loaning out playing, keep them playing in Barca B and play them in the first team regularly.
Because Rafinha's injury was planned all along.
Happy for the kid but sad with the way it happened.

Maybe not planned, but certainly something we could count on at this point. At least Adriano had some years on him before he turned to glass.

Neither Alena injury was planned , it lost him most important time to prepare himself for the season, things had balanced itself out
