Always felt gavi could be a good DM in the mould of Edgar David's pitbull style play. We are short of DMs so why can't they try him there.

Davids was completely different level of player on and off the ball than Gavi is currently.

Other than aggression there is not much similar between the two.

Gavi/Barca need to step back and start developing his game now and not get caught up being a caricature of himself charging about pitch and too often showing little quality.

Some clap happy at that but it wont last long if doesnt develop.. which he should.

He has time on his side to get better as only 18... which some of us have always said.

Edgar David was also quite skilled with the ball. That combined with his insane physical strength and awareness for a DM.

Gavi is, like always say, only 18. In 2028 he will be only 23 years old. Huge talent but i fear that he will burn out before reaching his prime ages.

Top 7 best attacking midfielder in 2022/23 season according to ESPN
He might be in the shadow of Barcelona's other one-name wonder, Pedri, but Gavi has developed into one of the best pressing midfielders out there. He possesses a unique talent in that he can constantly pressure and repressure opponents, seemingly never slowing down. Plus, as opposed to other pressing specialists, Gavi is a gifted passer.

In a sense, he is currently at a similar stage to where Jude Bellingham was after his first season at Borussia Dortmund, in that Gavi might not be an outstanding possession footballer, but he becomes more and more comfortable with the ball. Given his development and the fact that he adds something quite unique to Barcelona's midfield justifies his inclusion into this list.

ESPN give some of the worst analysis going and used to do back flips for Puig.

Check their awful analysis for Gavi in Nations League that some actually thought was relevant.

They claimed he was 'always open/alwys scanning' in game he made 15 passes at 65% success rate and gave away ball 9 times.

Gavi has regressed on the ball as this season went on and compared to last... ESPN having a nightmare there.

Gavi was not even one of top 10 mids in La Liga last season.

But he is 18 and has time to improve.

'Attacking midfielder' with worse goal/assists stats than even the DMs in team and players like Kessie and Roberto.. top stuff.

Yeah ESPN ranking is just way too random.

Still it shows how Gavi is viewed by media and fans in general. He is rated quite high.

Still i don't think Gavi ever played as an AM for Barca this season. He played that role twice in Spain latest game.

Indeed he is and despite an average at best season he earned that a bit due to way he played at 16.

The worst part are the comments that are not based on reality of season just passed.

That ESPN comments on his Nation League games are ludicrous and comes across as not even watching those games.

Hopefully he can kick on this season.

Gavi at LW/False Winger is the way to go. He is too good at being annoying to leave out. If he can develop to be sort of like Grealish at City then we have something on our hands. Let Balde provide width on the left. Keep dembele up and down the right. 3 CBs in defense and we can be discount Man City

Fake news. Hasn't regressed. At all. If anything; learned to be more conservative on the ball while keeping his off the ball aggressiveness.

At tender age of 18 all this. Suck it up and enjoy the ride. Cause you won't enjoy riding Ferran epl limp dick.
