FCBarca is talking shite.

Stones was preferred to Garcia and played a lot better than him when both got minutes last season.

Ake was bought as a LCB who can cover LB and possibly even midfield if needed. He was not signed because Garcia would not renew.

Fernandinho was being chosen ahead of Garcia at CB although he was young.

You know nothing about what you talk. Ake wasn't even there, pursuit of both Dias & Ake was subsequent to Eric deciding to not renew as reported by Domenech. Meanwhile, Stones was not preferred to Garcia and most of all one only needs to hear/read what Guardiola reguarly said of Garcia - he was highly prioritized

I believe Ansu's emergence, COVID coupled with death of his grandfather reprioritized the player's will to return home

Games played by Stones: Total. 35, 36, 37 PL 22 16 24. CL 11 1 6

Games played by Garcia : Total. 12, 25, 21. PL 10 13 10. CL 3 5 0

Seasons 20/21 19/20. 18/19

In 3 seasons Stones 108. games. Garcia 58.

Garcia being used more in secondary games. Stones also worse injury record. I like Garcia. I wish he had stayed at City. But to say he was preferred to Stones is erroneous.

MEN reported ‘ Ruben Dias arrived and made a bigger impact than anyone expected, John Stones made a revival and remained fit, while Aymeric Laporte avoided much time in the injury room. The addition of Nathan Ake, even though he had injury problems himself, also limited Garcia's game-time towards the end of the season. If Garcia was to play more, he needed the four centre-backs above him to experience some misfortune, and they didn't.’

To add insult to injury, Fernandinho was preferred to him.

Pep spoke highly of Garcia, though he was lower down the starting order, his attitude was excellent.

Of course Fernandinho was preferred when Garcia hadn't even gotten his debut until 2019 at 18 years of age. This is the folly of thinking you know something by quoting stats - try looking at the latter half of the 2019/2020 season when Garcia had usurped Stones in the rotation and see who Pep preferred in big matches and earned more playing time

And again, Ake & Dias were acquired only after renewal negotiations hit the impasse and Oriol Domenech leaked his desire to return in June 2020

SPORT are reporting Man City demand 80m for Ferran, while we have 50m budget in January. Not an impossible deal, but seems overpriced to me.

80M for a guy who is not a winger or striker?

Also a City reject that scored only against bums for them.

Barca should not be paying 80m for any player unless named Haaland or Mbappe.

Mbappe normally is 180m. minimum. Haaland with bonuses and commissions and all not much lower. As long as the likes of Grealish go for 100m, you either overpay or take your luck with relatively unknown players.

I wouldn't pay 80m on him either, but it's probably impossible to take very talented players from City or PSG on the cheap.

You are wrong again.

Ake and Dias were not signed because Garcia was not renewing no matter how any times try to repeat that.

Pep did play Garcia after he said he did not want to stay in both CL and league. It was his performances that led to him not playing more and both Stones and Dias being far better than him in that time.

This idea that Garcia had established himself as a first pick for City and Pep only brought in others as he wanted to leave is utter nonsense.

Tbf, EPL has loads of pacey offensive players, so it's a terrible league for someone like Garcia to do well in.

I do not have to use stats because I watch City’s every game.

I am using stats because they are emphatic. Stones games 108. Garcia games 57, over 3 seasons.

PL last 2 seasons. Stones mins on pitch 3052. Garcia mins on pitch 1168.

Last season. Stones started 22 games in PL. Garcia started 3 in PL.

Last season Stones and Dias had started together 16 times by 1 March. They had kept 12 clean sheets and conceded just three goals. They had actually scored more goals together (five) than they had let in.

The season you refer to 19/20 Garcia started 8 games. He did not make the squad - no place on the bench - in 16.
End of story.

Claiming to watch rather than actually watching is the true story and as I already pointed out, by late 2019/2020, Eric was playing ahead of Stones - these are facts based on playing time, stats and anyone who actually watched

I watch every game of City’s. That is not a claim. Do you watch every game of City’s? Obviously not.

In Stones worst season for injury, missed 14 PL games, he still did better than Garcia, who that season did not make the PL squad 16 times.

19/20 season. Stones Starting eleven: 12. Substituted in: 4, Injured: 14 His worst injury season.
Garcia Starting eleven: 8, Substituted in: 5 this is the season you think he did well.

If Garcia did so well at the end of 19/20, what happened the following year? Garcia Started 3 Subbed 3.
Stones the same year: Starting 22, Substituted in: 0

He formed a brilliant partnership with Dias.

The best thing for you to do, is when you are in a hole stop digging. Go and have a quiet sit down and a cup of tea, and we won’t say anymore about it.

Have a good evening. I am delighted Barca got 3 points.
