City missed Ferran's movement tonight.
Yes, apps (no minutes)/goals/assists is a perfect measure of how well a player has played.
I encourage you to share data and offer different perspectives for obvious reasons. No sarcasm or fascism here
With that said, Birdys aforementioned stats merely indicate that there is room for improvement while entirely ignoring potential causes. (Not dissing your stats, Birdy. They are interesting). Fact is, the entire team has been underperforming this season, on and off. These stats, while they sound fancy and all, sometimes fail to take variables and their impact into consideration, such as inadequate tactics but also the psychological aspect of joining a new team, and the pressure of living up to expectations, etc. Clearly the team is still psychologically affected by all of its defeats and humiliations, and Ferran is no exception.
All things considered, 7 goals, 6 assists is fine. It is true that he has been wasteful in front of goal tho.
Ferran almost has 2000 minutes played, which is utterly remarkable because he hasn't even finished half a season. So the 'since January' subtext is a bit misleading, he's played enough minutes for a whole season let alone a few months.
By that same token, we could also argue that Ferran stepped into more challenging league than Vlahovic.Vlahovic averages a much better NPG/minute. I would also note Vlahovic plays in a defensive Allegriball system where he gets hardly any chances so I don't think Ferran has the tougher situation.
So Ferran's stats aren't really that impressive, about what is expected. Then you move to his overall performance which has been very poor, he has missed countless crucial chances, and gone totally missing in several key games.
He will improve. He is already producing Griezmann stats at half the cost and a lower salary.Don't see how anyone can argue he has had a good spell so far whether based on stats or performance. Doesn't mean he can't improve though.
