FDJ is brilliant ball carrier, read game well, mobile and very good passer of ball.

World class which is why would easily find his way to another top club if left.

Real be delighted to see him leave aint no doubt.

But as soon as he gets closer to the final third of the opponent's field, he simply does not understand what to do.

His only cool skill is progressive runs between the lines, when he drops into the position of the third (most often left) defender and begins to break the pressure with his run between the lines. All. And that's all he has. But then he does not know and does not know how to do anything at a high level.
Lol you're right re him not knowing what to do once gets to the final 3rd seen it so many times in the 3 years he's been here, even last season it was obvious.

Sooooo annoying.

(Fans will now point to that 1 great assist he had last season).

False.... since Messi left he has highest number of through balls at Barca and his passing was class last season and could easily been double digit assists if players could finish better.

Understands just fine.

Some amazing passes last season and lots of chances created for a deeper midfielder.

Dont let truth get in the way.

Best pass of last season... a Mr FDJ... Just one of many.

His pass away to Espanyol for Kounde as well... oohh lala.

He's great a carrying the ball and linking the Midfield and final 3rd doing that, he carries it at bit too much and should pass more, but that's his best quality and when on form he's great at it, he also covers a lot of ground which is something you need from a box to box player.

Put him in a double pivot system like we did during the 2nd half of the season, you get some good performances out of him, nothing world changing because he's just not that level of player, but in the correct system his Link up play through carrying the ball is valuable.

He's a good player, can't argue against that, just not a world class or extraordinary one, which is what you should be for 80m so from that prospective I agree with you.
Yes, he would be better in a system with two defensive midfielders. But we cannot offer it to him. In this case, we need to rethink our whole concept and select such players so that De Jong is comfortable.

Yep and he isn't enough of a difference maker to permit all that, Which is why I'd sell him for the right price.

Definitely. It is for this reason that we took Gundogan. Since he is as productive as possible in the final third of the field.

The problem is that Gavi has nothing to offer in this zone either.

And this is Xavi's headache. But the benefit is now Gundogan.

Numpties claimed Xavi would never play two deeper mids... he did that last season and FDJ was best mid.

Now back to 'Xavi would never' nonsense again.

FDJ was class in final third this season. Some of best passes seen from any of them and but for bad finishing should have had a lot more assists.

Pass of season away to Osasuna..exquisite pass to humilate Espanyol being particular highlights.

'Most through balls for Barca since arrived other than Messi'

But aye numpties claim cant pass forward.

In today's football, you will always be exposed when you have a player on your team who runs less than 3 km without the ball.
Them counter attacking down the middle when he's constantly out of position and too slow to recover has nothing to do with Messi being lazy. Even after Messi left, it continued happening.

1 great pass
4 assist, 2 goals.

FDJ?

Nah try again.

A lot of brilliant passes.

1 pass that was best of the season though yes.

Passes v Osasuna to win game and Espanyol to humiliate them...top class and two of many. As season went on he really started to nail that left hand side lofted pass and Kounde alone probably missed 3/4 sitters from them.

x4 assists of Pedri if want to look at that stat in isolation.

In terms of Key passes.. more than likes of Modric who was mentioned and averaged not many less than Dembele/Raphinha etc.

All from deep midfield role and even sole DM/CB at times.

Third in La Liga for through balls and that is some going when have one of the highest pass% in league and not playing a role when asked to try and take those passes frequently.

Why have this become a debate about Frenkie lol?

Ferran absolutely sucks. Imagine stanning and actually dickriding such a mid player. Must be the most shameless thing ever

Fake news.

But appreciate the skills of FDJ.

Kessie being best mid at Barca and folk riding for him is sensational also.

'Gavi is better than FDJ'

'Busi is better than FDJ'

'Raphinha is better than Dembele'

'Lamal looks shite'

Few decent shouts all round.

But anyway.. heeeeeeerres Frenkie.

Lamal does sound pretty bad, you're right. Yamal on the other hand.
