7 - Philippe Coutinho - V1

I am 100% sure we will buy him. If not him than Dembele or even both of them. Farto has no choice but to overpay.

You do not understand. There is no 'overpaying' for Coutinho. Even if Barcelona bid 250 million Euros, Liverpool will not sell. Why? Because Liverpool have their heart fixed on not selling. And when the nooses tighten on Liverpool's board, they will not take any risk. Hence, Liverpool will by absolution reject A.N.Y. P.R.I.C.E. Overpaying is impossible.

I think otherwise.

If Barca offers 140M upfront, Coutinho is in the next plane to Catalunya.

They just don't want to overpay. Some here will be happy now since they prefer no one than paying too much... (and next summer it will be the same because the prices won't go down)

Bernardo Silva would have been an ideal replacement for Iniesta but instead the smart board went chasing players who are not for sale, first Verratti and then Coutinho.
Man City payed half as much as what Barca offered for Coutinho and Bernardo is even younger than Coutinho.
Next they probably will go for Dybala and guess what? He is not for sale too!

If that was the case, Barca representatives wouldn't even be in London. I 'm sure Liverpool will say yes if we overpay.
Should we overpay though? That's the question.

Just call it a summer and give up.

First thing first, sack Robert Fernandez and hire whoever is responsible for transfers in Monaco. Let's get a professional with proven track record in.

Best to buy Dembele and Seri and put another 100m into scouting division. Ffs this board...

This is 100% on the board.

A midfielder was needed even if Neymar was still with us. Wasted half of the transfer window trying to chase Verratti and now desperation for Coutinho made it impossible given the circumstances.

The noose is tightening around :bartomeu: neck now.

Agree, if they dont sign big player that can do barca good, socios will want barto and co. out ASAP, because after fiasco with neymar they didnt sign any big player, barca with valverde and right tactic can do wonder still

This is actually on Robert. He's in charge of all transfers this summer and he's flopping hard.

I think what he's been doing all summer is negotiating with all the players' agents without giving in thought that it's their actual clubs who need to accept to sell them.

Cordon resigned from Director of Football of Monaco without giving any reasons right before this summer mercato.

2 days ago he announced he will be Director of Football of a club in chinese league.

Monaco currently can't find any proper replacement to Cordon.

And their previous Director of Football responsible for all the good transfers they had the last 4 years (Campos) is now Director of Football of Lille in French League. And Lille is now owned by a multi millionaire named Gerard Lopez.
