7 - Philippe Coutinho - V1

This is actually on Robert. He's in charge of all transfers this summer and he's flopping hard.

I think what he's been doing all summer is negotiating with all the players' agents without giving in thought that it's their actual clubs who need to accept to sell them.

That would have been immensely stupid. Agreeing with the player should be the easiest thing for Barcelona.

Cat radio saying one of the reasons why this transfer is difficult is because of PSG's interest. apparently Neymar requested PSG to sign him.

We were never going to jump from 70+10m variables to 100+20m, That's not how negotiations work, But I'm sure it will eventually settle at that.
Liverpool was never going to let coutinho go, before finishing the qualifiers in any case, It'll give us time to make our final bid for him.
There is no such thing as a club refusing to sell, While at the same time receiving a first and a second bid, It's Bullshit, Placing offers means there is an open line of negotiations between the clubs.
Verratti was a true case of a club not willing to sell, No lines of communications were established, Do you remember us placing bids for him?
While i doubt it'll happen, Liverpool failing to qualify to CL, Will make getting coutinho much easier.

The logic you use to conclude that Liverpool are open to negotiations amuses me. If Bradford sent a bid to Barcelona for Neymar (immediate rejection by the club) would there be an 'open line of negotiations'?

Yea Liverpool would sell but only if Coutinho put transfer request on their table. Lets see their game with Hoffeinheim and PL game first.

You do not understand. There is no 'overpaying' for Coutinho. Even if Barcelona bid 250 million Euros, Liverpool will not sell. Why? Because Liverpool have their heart fixed on not selling. And when the nooses tighten on Liverpool's board, they will not take any risk. Hence, Liverpool will by absolution reject A.N.Y. P.R.I.C.E. Overpaying is impossible.

£130m Up front ie no crap installment payments and he will be youra

I want you to keep him. Would like him to trow hissy fit like VVD is doing, but Cou is too big of a professional.

In ideal world he would put transfer request in and say he is too good for team and ambition you currently have.

No club in the world, Sends bids blindly, Without making sure the receiving club will actually look at it, It's a waste of time, This is logic 101.
When a club wants a player, It'll sent a request for negotiations, In the other end, They'll either refuse and say "we're not willing to look at offers", Or accept at the very least to look at the offers, If the latter response happens, Then the club starts sending bids.

Sure LFC is open to negociate. That doesn't mean there is 100% chance they will accept a 100+20 bid in the end like you are claiming.

Just call it a summer and give up.

First thing first, sack Robert Fernandez and hire whoever is responsible for transfers in Monaco. Let's get a professional with proven track record in.

Don't agree that we should call it a summer just yet, but definitely with you on that last point...
