No, the market has fundamentally changed. It's not the Neymar deal, it's the massive increase of money the premier league clubs have.
The top sides can have net spend of £150m.....
That's the change... £60m. Isn't much when you can spend that much...

Yet that doesn't mean go absolutely nuts spending more that twice the player's worth just because you're desperate. Barca did it once with Dembele. Doing it twice in one summer was going to be beyond ridiculous.

I feel bad for Coutinho. He badly wanted to come but at the end of the day it didn't happen because of either LFC's stubborn insistence that he is not for sale or our board's incompetence and fucking it up. I don't really rate him highly and I didn't want to spend that much money on him but you've got to feel sorry for him.

He is an inferior player and not more versatile.
100m for him is probably worse than 160m for Coutinho but to be honest would take it as need improvement.
There is no chance Lemar is a 100m player and Coutinho is a 60m player. Other way round and probably a bigger gap is more accurate.
