Hate to be the one to point this out, especially going into the New Year... I think we all got had on that Coutinho-Nike thing. If you read the message and replace Coutinho's name with Iniesta it makes perfect sense. And Iniesta's picture is below it.

Seems a far easier thing to hack and change when all you're replacing is a single name, and honestly more likely than not it looks like the original ad was meant to be referring to Iniesta. If this ad was a fake then it takes away a lot of credence from the subsequent rumors the past couple of days.

Doesn't really add up given Iniesta is a pale shadow of his former self though ..

I don't see why we would get a Cup tied player now when we don't need him for our league campaign and why Liverpool would get rid without need. It will certainly disrupt their rythm now if they sell their best player while they are only 4 points off 2nd place in the league.

Obvious why would get him now if can.

Less reason for Liverpool to sell which is why if anything happens it almost certainly be down to promises previously made.

The bottom line is that there is no reason for Liverpool to sell right now.
They don’t need the money, the player is playing well and will continue to do so as it’s the World Cup coming up. Given that they didn’t sell in the summer due to lack of time to replace him, there is way less chance of him being sold this window..

The only reason Liverpool would do it now is if promises made.

Salah imjury makes anything less likely though.

Not selling in summer had nothing to do with lack of time. Had plenty time to try and find a replacement.

No... it came when preseason had already started.. their coach felt that there wasn’t time as plans had already been st and the player had assured him he was staying ... We may think there was time but Liverpool’s coach didn’t.

As for the offer? It wasn’t a good offer. The BEST offer was £82m gaurenteed plus add ons.. sounds good? Well given that they just spent £70m on a defender, getting only slightly more for one of your best stacking players seems odd. Plus, the deal was over five years which is highly unusual .... very badly handled from start to finish, and don’t let gets started on the’iltimatum’ that the deal would be withdrawn.. that was embarrassing

No plenty trasnfers happen after that and Liverpools stance was the same the whole summer he was not for sale.

Had Barca gone for him even earlier it would have made no difference. Liverpool were not selling him.

Don't like this tbh. I really think getting Coutinho now could disrupt our team harmony.
With our position in the league Iniesta can be rested to be fresh for Champions League without problems.

Coutinho in the summer by all means though.
