Bookmakers are now convinced Philippe Coutinho is joining Barcelona.
Coral have suspended betting on Coutinho joining Barcelona in the January transfer window after the firm saw a sustained gamble in the last 12 hours.

The Brazilian was as short as 1-4 to move to the Spanish giants before Coral stopped betting.

“This latest gamble looks to suggest Barcelona are just waiting for the ink to dry on the contract before announcing their deal to sign Coutinho,” said Coral’s John Hill.

“We saw a flurry of bets late last night at an alarming rate which forced us to pull the plug on the market.”

It's just to much about Coutinho nowadays. We have to wait and see.... I personally think he won't come in January it just doesn't make any sense at all. I hope he comes but with this board we shouldn't be confident. We all need low expectations....

There are a few reports suggesting that Liverpool want to take Rafinha as part of the deal ...

I realise that this could all be lot of nonsense but .....

Not locked by all bookies. One bookie has it at 1,6 which says Barca are favorites to sign him this January but not heavy favorites. 60-40 we are getting him.

Iniesta can definitely play the xavi roll better than any imitaters we could sign, so a midfield of coutinho, busquets and iniesta would make me fall in love again. Even if it's only for 1 season and it could work, iniesta just wouldn't finish most games.

i dont see it happening.. coutinho doesnt look enough sad in his games with liverpool (that also doesnt mean he is happy because he is leaving). and liverpool are in a good position to have a fair shot at the champions league especially with the recent defensive reinforcement. i think the deal will be completed in the summer. it will be out of nowhere if it happens now .. no football for 10"days in spain what do u expect of journalists to talk about in the meantime huh.. just the same bullshit as in the summer break. made up news.

Hate to be the one to point this out, especially going into the New Year... I think we all got had on that Coutinho-Nike thing. If you read the message and replace Coutinho's name with Iniesta it makes perfect sense. And Iniesta's picture is below it.

Seems a far easier thing to hack and change when all you're replacing is a single name, and honestly more likely than not it looks like the original ad was meant to be referring to Iniesta. If this ad was a fake then it takes away a lot of credence from the subsequent rumors the past couple of days.

The text makes no sense with Iniesta's name in place of Coutinho's; how can Iniesta "be ready to light up the Camp Nou" when he's been doing it for the past 10 years? It sounds like something that would be said about a new arrival, not a veteran player.

Nike say that stuff in their ads all the time about players on a team, not just the newcomers. It's a marketing slogan, he's ready to light up the Camp Nou and there's a week to personalize kits for free. It's not that pointed of a sentence and could easily just be a coincidence given how ambiguous the word choice is. You don't have to be a new player to be 'ready to light up the Camp Nou'. Why is Iniesta's picture under it then if it's definitely about Coutinho? Referencing him as the 'magician' also works out with Iniesta just as much as with Coutinho.

Idk if it really is fake, but to me it definitely looks like it could've been a hack or something like that. It's just the more simple explanation and so I'll go with Occam's Razor. We'll have our answer soon enough though.
