He's not Verratti but he can play alongside Coutinho... So yes a midfield with Coutinho and without verratti is possible with matuidi and motta. That's what I am saying.

Of course it's possible, but it would mean completely restructuring their midfield, which makes little to no sense.

What makes sense, though, is P$G going for someone like Coutinho in order to send a strong signal to Verratti that they indeed mean to create a ChL winning team.

I mentioned this already before when people here said we don't have a position for him. They have Mané and Salah for the wings and Klopp tried Coutinho at the end of last season in a more deeper, kind of playmaking role. For me Coutinho would be the as close it can get Iniesta-replacement. Remember how often Andrés played on the wing before we needed him as a fix CM. I will never forget how hard he fucked Arbeloa in that Clásico.

Apparently he needs to play a full season as 8 for Liverpool before people in here are convinced that he can do it. As I see it there is more of a chance of getting him now than next year.
