Pedri made the right move to move around the press with as little risk.
To be honest from the still shot you can see 6 Valladolid players in frame. Stegen should probably have gone long instead of trying to build from the back there. We were 5 vs 4 in there half of the pitch.
Worked out well in any case.
They were 4v4 if Ter Stegen would've hit it long. I like the short pass, and they ended up 8v7 so it was very good in the end.
Maybe Pedri tricks me a bit as well, maybe he invited the pressure in the first place, but I don't think it looks like it...
There should be no risk really in the buildup, and they should be able to be calm on the ball always, and having 3 opp in your area when the ball isn't there is perfect.
I just saw this a lot in Pedri, getting too deep, faced backwards, not ready to turn. I can see someone like Benzema being quicker towards Ter Stegen, and their RM/RW closing that space quicker or getting in quicker on Pedri...
If Ter Stegen is forced to hit it long, their pressure is a success
