8 - Pedri

Dont know why his first 5 meter burst is so amazingly slow and for short legged players those first meters are usually the advatangeous ones. Pedri is technically gifted but that extreamly slow acceleration is worrying. He can never be a modric or iniesta type with that profile. At most maybe a fabregas.

He was a disaster defensively. Either too passive, as with the first goal, or rushing towards the ball holder who glides past him with ease.

Dont think he was a disaster. Took time to get hold of the game. But he finally did.

People are forgetting we were playing 10 with the opponent overrunning the midfield.

6/10 performance.

Oh, he was a disaster - looked gassed after 20 minutes, one step behind in all actions and even his passing was off. He and Raphinha were bad, they had a bad day on the wrong day - like they were shocked after the red card and they got PSG PTSD flashbacks. He was lost yesterday, that’s it…
But he’ll come around in CL against better teams, I have no doubt - needs a little better physique though.

He is quite poor but there are only him and Casado as midfielders. Two midfielders for 80 minutes.

It's not a good situation.

Imagine jumping on Pedri just because he didn't have a great game playing 11v10 wtf is wrong with some of you?

He wasn't a disaster but he absolutely did some mindless things before that pretty clip of him escaping Embolo's hot pursuit - at least twice he had unforced giveaways just outside our box, that is inexcusable. Even later he dawdled too long on the ball on one occasion to have his marker close him down and easily dispossess him

It's obvious the team got unsettled by both Monaco's intense high pressure and eventual red card but he played poorly in stretches and very well in others. But you can't be at Barca and have poor stretches, so frankly he earned criticism IMHO - although these days criticism seems to inevitably translate to scapegoating or cancelling them

All pretty kneejerk, I am most unhappy about how they got undone - Lamine scoring in the way they did gave me hope because they started to settle and get their heads up. But I still go back to the lack of leadership in a young team, I am certain Gavi will grow into that role but a veteran leader is needed

These low intelligence players need to be sold first. I've wanted to sell panda for a long time but I'd rather sell the other three first.
There is a reason "high intelligence" players like Puig are kicking it in burger league instead of top world football. Hardwork and dedication are valued much more, rightfully so.
